How to care for your

jewellery

SIBYLLA DELPHICA jewelry is handcrafted using a variety of materials, many of which are very delicate

and should be treated with special care.

Here you'll find some instructions on how to care for your jewellery and keep them as new:

We recommend keeping your jewellery out of water-do not shower or swim with it - soaps, chlorine and salt

can damage some metals and gemstones.

Also, remember to always remove jewellery before sleeping, exercising, gardening and cleaning - some house

detergents contain chemicals that damage your jewellery

AVOID CONTACT with

  • Detergents

  • Bleach

  • Nail Polish Remover

  • Hairspray

  • Perfume (be careful when you put on your perfume - avoid spraying on your jewellery)

  • Any product that might contain alcohol, bleach or any corrosive acids

STORE your  jewellery separately and untangled (necklace, bracelets). Since gemstones and metals can scratch

each other

Avoid storing silver jewellery in wood containers, since it contains acids that can erode the metal.

Same goes for cardboard and paper, since they are both derived from wood.

Tip: Stretchy bracelets should be ROLLED over your hand when putting them on, instead of stretching or

pulling at the elastic cord. Stretching or pulling the bracelet can weaken the elastic cord and over time

may cause the bracelet to break.

How to care for your sandals

Variations in colour and texture are the prized characteristics of beautiful, tanned leather. Over time, the leather will darken after exposure to direct sunlight, further enhancing the natural look of your sandals or your small leather goods. In order to keep your shoes in good condition, the following general leather care is recommended:

Avoid exposing your leather goods to humidity and direct sources of heat like radiators.

Protect your leather goods from rain and moisture.

Always store your products in the dust bag provided, ensure the shoes are well ventilated before storage.

Prevent any contact with alcohol (perfume) and greasy substances (make-up, body lotions).

To clean your leather goods, wipe with a clean, soft dry cloth.

Please kindly protect all vachetta and suede leather with a waterproof spray. To be safe, first test the spray in an inconspicuous area. If all is well, go ahead and apply the spray all over your suede shoes or other suede items, and let it dry completely.

Avoid getting them wet with sea water.

In case of contact with water, do not rub the leather: use a clear dry cloth and apply a gentle tapping motion to absorb the liquid. If stains occur, dab the whole area with a damp soft cloth and leave to air dry. Apply a clear leather cream using gentle circling motions.

To clean calf hair (pony) leather we kindly recommend using a damp cloth or a soft brush, always working in the direction of the grain, never brushing the fur back and forth. Regular gentle brushing will prevent a build-up of dirt and the consequent matting.
